One of the most famous places in the world, Paris is bristling with some top attractions. Without trying, you’ll find yourself in front of the main Paris sights, because there are just so many. Off the tourist trail, there are also plenty of charming cafes and bistros, galleries, and museums to make your visit worthwhile. There is so much to see that you simply won’t get to experience it all in one visit.

Things to see and do in Paris

Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower

It goes without saying, but we’re going to say it anyway. Drawing millions each year, the Eiffel Tower is the jewel in Paris’ crown. You’ll find it hard to escape as it pops into view when you’re least expecting it. See it from afar, or take the lift to the top – the view is quite simply staggering.

Sacre couer

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur

The Sacred Heart Basilica is another firm favourite with visitors to Paris. Climb the 234 steps to the very top of the Butte de Montmartre to be treated to an incredible view of Paris.

Notre Dame de paris

Cathédrale de Notre Dame de Paris

The most visited site in Paris, over 10 million people pass through the doors of Notre Dame each year. Started in the 12th century and taking around 300 years to build, the church is an absolute marvel, with its immense facade and huge bells. Yet again, you can climb its tower to see an incredible panorama of Paris. If you’ve just visited the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur, you might want to rest for a breather first.

The Louvre

The Louvre

Another staple among Paris’ attractions is the world famous Louvre, renowned as one of the finest museums of art and culture in existence. Inside you’ll find the equally famous Mona Lisa. Bear in mind that the Louvre is vast, and if you want to see it all you should plan at least an entire day.

River boat cruises

Take a break from all that climbing and see Paris from another perspective. Head to the Pont de l’Alma and you’ll find a number of Paris’ best known river-boat companies waiting to take you on a watery jaunt.

Disneyland
